Detour

The newest bent on a time-worn tradition of country swing music is Detour, a band created with the debut of Kristi Nebel's album, DETOUR. Kristi brings her years of love in performing this music to her lead singing, with back-up harmonies from Steve Nebel.

The brilliance of swing fiddler Paul Anastasio is legendary, with credits hailing from such bands as Asleep at the Wheel, Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn and more behind him.

Toby Hanson, accordionist extraordinaire, lends his skills in arranging tunes as well as playing them. His background, with a jumping start as the young founder of the Smiling Scandinavians band, brings his musical expertise honed from prestigious studies at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle.

The years of powerhouse dance drumming experience from Mike Friel keep feet on the floor. Rounding out the sound are the rhythm and lead guitar and bass of Steve Nebel and Kristi Nebel, whose band Pressure Ridge has performed all over the Pacific Northwest for the past 25 odd years.

The songs the band play have been familiar to country dancers for three generations of Americans from sea to shining sea. As well, the group lends some original songs to the mix. The band is appropriate to festivals catering to all ages interested in Americana genre music, or for dances, parties, or concerts of all sizes.

To contact them for hire call Kristi Nebel at 001 (from outside North America) 253 573 1504, or cell phone 253 241 3581, or email kristinebel@msn.com. The band is available for bookings with their own sound reinforcement or without, and can and will travel.  Contact Kristi Nebel by mail at P.O. Box 5764, Tacoma,
